Craft Fair Photos!

On Saturday, I participated in my first craft fair, and it was a success. Of course, I have some things I can improve next time, but overall it was a great experience. I took items from both of my shops, but earrings were by far my best sellers. The day was scorching hot... until a rain shower came in. Fortunately I was able to cover my table, and the rain stopped after about ten minutes. I even made a sell during the storm to a little girl who spotted some earrings she likes earlier! The rain did cool everything off for a short time. Next time, I hope to have some sort of covering over my booth... either a tent or umbrella.

Here are a couple of photos from the event...

I used shutters to hold my earrings. That was a tip I got when I was preparing for the show, and it worked out great!

Wearable Art!

This week I am featuring Naughty Monkeys, a shop of unique, hand-made clothing, shoes, bags, and jewelry. The creator of the wonderful pieces was a successful writer who decided she would rather make stuff. She takes clothes and re-invents them into one-of-a-kind, wearable art. Here are some of the things you will find in the shop...

Be sure to check out her cool blog as well. You can learn some tips to make your own creations.

These handbags are pretty perfect.

Have you seen Miss Pretty Perfect's Etsy shop? If you are in need of a one-of-a-kind handbag, it is definitely the place to go. Take a look at some of the wonderful pieces you'll find there.

Aren't they super cute? The designer and creator, La Toya, has loved fashion since she was little. She now has two degrees in fashion, so she definitely knows what she's doing. She has sewn bags sold in department stores, but now has her own line of bags sold on Etsy. The bags are truly unique, combining upholstery fabrics, patchwork, and leather for a stylish look.

And, be sure to check out her blog to stay up to date with her latest creations. There's also a great tutorial on Mexican pleating---how cool!

And here's her twitter and facebook!
